Does anyone have any good methods for cleaning grimy silk flowers - it's an arrangement in a vase and I've tried silk flower cleaner and the vacuum, but 5 years of no cleaning at all has taken its toll!

My gut reaction to this is bin them! I am guessing you have not looked at them that much on the last 5 years, unless of course they have sentimental thoughts attached to them.

Mmmmm count me in this club :rotfl::rotfl:

Have been MIA as I went to Ik*a with Mum and Dad this morning and we did not get back until 2pm each £60 lighter  Bought some storage boxes, a picture frame, a new pillow for each of us, trailing plugs erm erm can't remember what else lol

Have managed to put the DW on and then at 8pm I decided to gut CHAOS corner and the cleaning cupboard underneath. Miss A helped me, we binned stuff, and logged the rest. Keeping one of each thing in the cupboard and going to store the rest in the garage until it is needed ;) The log will be stuck to the inside of the cupboard door so I know what is where for.

Caught up with the thread and about to go to bed.

Macpep, thanks, yeah I’ve got agoraphobia and tend to panic when outside alone! So it was a big thing to do. But I’m determined to conquer this, not least because I really need to exercise! Since going on antidepressants, I’ve ballooned into a huge person!

Well you can always lose the weight when you are ready, you should be proud of yourself for being able to do these walks, well done that is fantastic and you should be so proud of yourself, you are very very brave :T

Greenbee, i knew you would tell me I don't need Inspector Morse, but actually, yes I do! I've got every episode ever broadcast and you can't make me get rid of them :p :rotfl:
Whatever makes you happy, on my wishlist for christmas was the jerry lewis box set  I love him and can only mind watching him when I was a wee girl :D

Am up at 6am so night night all, I really gotta get some sleep to enable me to read the posts at work in the morning/afternoon !!!

  • I have to have a 'bits and bobs' day today, so I'm not going to get much flying done. I thought I would at least go over the bathroom Not done :(, as it will certainly come up at some point, and I can rattle round it faster than the Living Room (which will have to wait till tomorrow!)

    My extras:
    *
[STRIKE]Walk round to old school and hand in 2nd hand uniform for sale
    * Go to big bad city: take back jacket and buy pillow and blank CDs[/STRIKE]

    *
[STRIKE]Finish research document draft and e-mail it to colleague for discussing on Thursday (about 2 hours work)
    * Write to DD's orchestra about Saturday

    [/STRIKE]
    * Make a CD disc of orchestral pieces for playing in the car so DD gets to know them ahead of course at Easter
(downloaded pieces last night with her)
    [STRIKE]* Update savings schedule[/STRIKE]
    * Finish utilities usage figures: oil, electricity
    * Do calculations re Economy 7 (18% b/even; 15% lose out; 25% gain?)
[STRIKE]* Start to update 2010 budget schedule[/STRIKE]; and plug in Jan's figures

[STRIKE]* Food plan for the (rest of the!) week
    * Cook meal (cumberland pie)

    * Write difficult e-mail to sister
    [/STRIKE] :o

What's the betting 'write difficult e-mail to sister' will be left at the end of the day?

    :(:(:(

All for now. Must crack on and catch the bus to town.

    MissH

Hah. Well at least the e-mail to Sis has been dispatched.... though it's got a wee bit late.....:eek::eek: (Told you it was a difficult one)

Night night. Going to be dead in the morning....:o:o:o

i am really rubbish at this atm :o

    - cleaned breakfast table
    - dropped kids off; washed, fed & dressed incl. lunch boxes
    - paid dd's nursery fees
    - ALL washing up :T
    - wiped all kitchen surfaces incl. Hob

just picked dd up again (1.5hr is not long enough ) - but luckily she's easily entertained!

i can't wait for dh to get a 'proper' job. atm he's temping and his hours are all over the place. i just can't fly with him under my feet!!
the kids are much easier to deal with - but he constantly wants to talk or wants things or just watches tv (in my way)?!?!

    Morning lovely flyladies,

I am back! (obviously!) Did you miss me?? :rotfl:
Happy belated birthday - to Jinks and Mumto5 and Dora and anyone else I missed.
Rosepink - smooch.gif I also have autumn bulbs that I didn't plant. I think I might just throw them in in the spring when I get out there and hope for the best. In my experience bulbs don't seem to like being stored, but it could just be that I don't have a suitably cool place to store them in. I know other people pull and store every year so it must be possible!
    Jinkypinks - hi sweetie!
    Lady-L - kiss.gif
    Toots - hugs.gif
Poppy - big big hugs honey
Jo - Hope your mum is doing OK
Triker - Supportive vibes and hugs coming your way
thankyou.gif for your continued thoughts and prayers for Tris and Michelle. Tris has some complications from the crash and is being closely monitored in hospital. Michelle has had her operation though will be in hospital for a while yet.
Thank you all so much for thinking of me while I was gone from the thread, I know via LadyL and Jinky that you didn't just forget about me and I do appreciate it.

    Off to find a list.
