My daughter applied for all the usual stuff on the 17th May, post office put stamps on, and sent it. We received it back today 8th July as Refused, not sufficient postage. Last date was 30th June for receiving this claim. Any ideas???
Very disappointed it took RM nearly 8 weeks to send it back though.

was it overweight then?0

I suppose it depends who weighs it, when PO sent it it was OK, when sorting office got it it wasn't. I'm complainig about the 7weeks it took to get back to us. I also am panicing (if this is the spelling)about getting the financial assistance she needs.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

well first if you just put a stamp on it without checking the weight (easy enough to do) or if you can prove they weighed it and it was correct it may give you some sway with the authorities to consider you out of the time limit0

I use student finance and last year I was a bit late sending in my form (as in after august bank holiday late) and I still recieved all my paperwork and stuff, it was about 2 weeks late, so if you repost it you should be fine, may be a bit late recieving it back thoughTitch0 -
Thanks Outtathaway, we posted by recorded delivery on Saturday AM. Bit of a panic there. Daughter on holiday in Turkey, will tell her when she gets back. Glad to know you can post late and still get it sorted.Very disappointed it took RM nearly 8 weeks to send it back though.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Don't panic. I work at a University and when we enrol students in September at least 10% of them don't have the necessary paperwork from the Student Loans Company. Some are only just applying!!!
The University will wait for their fees until it is all sorted but you might have to subsidise the living expenses for a week or two.0 -
i sent my student finance thingy off late last year and i had no problems, got my loan through the same time as everyone else. actually, it wasn't my fault that it was late, it was my LEA's. However, i missed the deadline this year aswell (oops) but its ok, they still accept the request, you'll just receive the money a bit later than mostTotal abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0

Been subsidising her for the last 19 years so I don't think a couple of weeks will make much difference LOL.
Thanks for all the help, it was much simpler when I was a lad, cue violins.
