Hi all
My DS has managed to get ink all over the new carpet in his bedroom. Its really bad! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the best way of removing it.
Thanks in advance!

From what (pen, ink cart etc)? Is it water/oil based?0

Its ink from a pen Its like the ink from a cartridge pen. Not sure if its oil or water based. Think its oil. I bought some ink remover from wilkinsons but it hasnt really done anything!0

Cartridge pens are generally water based ink -see if you use the pen on a wet piece of kitchen paper if the ink spreads. Only experience I have had with them and a carpet ended as a permanent stain
(though that was many years ago). I'd imagine the wilko's ink remover is more tailored to biro (oil based). 0 -

couple of sites seem to recommend rubbing alcohol, but i was also wondering if one of those stain devils might help? - you can get them in most supermarkets.

Try some hair spray - soak it and then blot it with some kitchen towel. Seems the polymers in the hair spray will cause the colour to attach to them and it will remove it.
Give it a bit of a scrub with some carpet shampoo afterwards and see where you are.
I have got permanent marker out of a white blouse with hair spray

I had a problem a few weeks ago - an ink cartridge had leaked out of my printer so beige carpet was stained a lovely black colour. I tried all sorts and then a friend of mine said to try Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner (the yellow bottle) it seems her sister had ink on her carpet and someone had recommended it to her. Well it worked. I sprayed it on, let it soak in and then dabbed/rubbed it. It took me three goes but it was a lot of ink. Carpet is back to normal now. (only downside is the `smell` of the cleaner I hate it. I always keep a bottle at the back of the cupboard just incase. good luck0

Careful using Mr. Muscle or Hairspray, they both have a bleaching effect. Haven't tried it on carpet, but soaking ink in milk helps remove a lot of it. Would be wary of using this on carpet too though, just in case the milk isn't rinsed out properly *phewiieee*4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

The Mr Muscle was fine on my carpet, I didn`t check it for bleaching first just dived straight in and did it, if it hadn`t worked would have needed new carpet.0
