Valance?

Prob not the best place for this, but can anyone tell me the difference between a single valance sheet, and a valance base sheet? Or is there one?

I want to buy a valance that goes under the mattress but getting very confused!!

As far as I know the valance fits over the divan base, under the matress. Then you fit the sheet over the matress in the normal way. I remember having one like this but not sure if they still make them? Personally I think it works out cheaper to buy a valanced sheet, also less washing to do.

A valance sheet will go on top of mattress and reach down to floor.

  • You buy a base valance to put over the base of the bed-under the matress. Then you just need fitted sheets, you can leave the valance on the bed for longer between washes.
A valanced sheet is a sheet and valance all in one-bit gigger to wash thats all.
You can get some valances that are just the trim round the bed base-they fit with velcro or something-
I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....

Is it a platform valance your looking for? I think thats what some stores describe/label them as, they go under the mattress.

Make sure you check out the drop on any valance you're thinking about buying.

Our bed has a deep base, we got one that fits perfectly from Dunelm Mills.

get aplatform valance, otherwise every time you change the sheet you will have to iron the evil thing!!!! At least with a platform valance you only have to iron it every now and then not weekly, can you tell i hate ironing!
