Hi
I am getting a bad smell from under my bath. The bathroom is downstairs and has a concrete floor. I have checked and there is no leaks that I can see.
Any one have any tips or ideas?
Thanks
Update
There was a small leak in the u-trap under the bath which I have now fixed.
Just got to dry the concrete floor under the bath out now.

Is it a "drains" smell or a "fusty" smell ?
If its the first one then Ithink that points to the problem. If its the second one, then athough your floor is concrete, the support framework for the bath will certainly be wood.If you have had the leak for a while then the wood will have started to rot and that can cause a fusty smell that just gets worse and worse..0 -
I once had to deal with a similar problem in a basement that had a bathroom installed. Turned out to be a fungus that looked a bit like candy floss.Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !0

Hi
Thanks for the replies, it's a drains smell. I am going to leave the bath panel off for a week or so to see if the floor dries out and the smell get's any better.0 -
Hi, just found this forum and have a similar situation in my kitche. Have been smelling mildew in the cupboards for some time and couldn't think why. It's an old house, no damp proof course, but was certainly dry for the first two years. Today we took off the plinths under the cupboards and found a definitely leak behind the dishwasher. Can anyone tell me, if this has been leaking for say, a year, would the dampness go right round the kitchen. We have tiles on the floor in the middle, the dampness and mildew is on the bare concrete all the way round the three sides under the units.
If it has wicked all the way round and we have now stopped the leak, how long will it take to dry and is there a product that will remove the mildew from the concrete?
Thanks0 -
I have similar problem, and that is:-
 I suspect water has been leaking under bath for over a year
(I've cleaned up loads of mould patches & removed 3 wet mouldy layers =carpet, underlay & tiles)
If it has caused this damage - what other damage could be caused ?
Also the seal seems to stretch (come away very slightly from tiles/wall) when someone gets in the bath.
Thanks.~~~~~~~~~~~~:kisses3: "In Raising Your Children;" :kisses3:"Spend Half As Much Money n Twice As Much Time."0 -

Cleaned under bath with Bleach Solution, left bath panel off so that floor could dry, but still the smell.
How please tell me How can I get rid of the smell.:eek::eek:0
