In itunes
Edit > Preferences > General
In there you will find a line which says "When you insert a CD" then there are a number of options. Change it to the one you wantWe all evolve - get on with it0 -

looked at that thank you .. it's set as "ask to import" ... don't really know what that means .. other options..... import .. show or play ...
thought i'd been told once before something about saving music to "my music .. then taking it to itunes from there .. but don't know how that's done ?!
why don't they make these things "idiot proof" !!0 -
If apple made their products idiot proof they wouldnt have a 78.3% market share on Portable media playersSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

It mean what it says. It will ask you if you want to import, if you decline , it won't.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I keep my music on a separate partition, so that if windows bites the dust I still have my music on there after reinstall and not have to dig out my backupsSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

But you wouldnt bother using i-tunes until you have a ipod, 78.3% doesnt make their software the best as there is nothing else you can use with an ipod (is there?).
Sony must have had about 99% of the mini disc market yet sonic stage is rubbish.
I have to admit though after soundly refusing to buy into the Apple corp I find myself hankering after an orange ipod nano 5th gen.......:D just waiting for the right money off voucher.0 -

Oh yes, there's lots of other iPod managers out there:-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_iPod_managers

Crikey, there are quite a few, thanks for that one more good reason to get that nano.0
