There are a number of reasons why people "support" well known brands but not new websites:
- "They don't get that big by cheating their customers."
- They have a reputation to uphold
- More people are likely to have had firsthand (and positive) experience.
- People like to contribute to a thread and so may rubbish a small firm they have never heard of just so that they feel included.
