They've sent me three more emails asking me to ring them since I rang them this morning, I'm amazed that they are still in business

They are only making sure that you are who you say you are .
Never heard of fraud ? I'm sure that if you were swindled by someone using your details you'd have something to say about it .

In the supermarket you put your PIN in in person using the card that you were issued with do you not ! With LX you are anonymous on the other end of a phone line .

No not necessarily, you enter all the card details, including the stuff on the back, address, dob, inside leg whatever and if this doesn't match up they refuse the sale.

In this case it all did match up, as it has with every other site that I have bought from, both before and after the move and account changes.

Anyway, how will my writing to them giving my new address be any greater validity than typing it onto an web page?

As I said they are an absolute pile of *****! I had reservations about ordering this time because of the disaster last time I bought from them (wrong goods sent, wrong price, charged twice, 3 months for the refund)

At least they've saved me all that this time
