Error in telephone directory

I've been getting some "wrong number" calls. The last one, a very polite man, rang my number twice - then he said he was phoning someone else completely and rang the number given for them in the BT telephone directory.
I could scream! My telephone number used to belong to a taxi firm and I still get phone calls for that, even though it has been my number for nearly six years. It's not nice having drunkards phone in the middle of the night!
Is there anything I can do about this error?

Are you sure it's a directory error, not just a similar number? My mum's number is one digit different to a caravan site, and she gets regular booking requests intended for them.
If it's a directory error, nothing you can do except ask them to correct it for the next edition. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yes, definitely an error in the book! The last caller read it out to me a couple of times, and it matched my number, so it wasn't his butter fingers making the mistake.0

Then complain to BT, get the online listing corrected as well.No free lunch, and no free laptop
