What is on the cassette?0

it's an audio meditation cassette - just talking really with a little bit of background music.0

Easy one this. Connect your cassette player (line out) to your PC soundcard (line in), Press play and adjust the mixer settings so you can hear the cassette clearly. Then use a sound recorder to record the content and save as a wav file. If you want separate tracks on the finished disc you will need to save each track separately. Once you have them all, burn to audio disc.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

You need a way of connecting the tape recorder to the computer (e.g. a phono to mini jack cable that will allow you to connect it to the "line in" connector on the sound card). And some software like Audacity for capturing and processing the sound. You can apply noise reduction etc. if you want at this stage. Once the file is saved you can then use a CD burning program (e.g. Nero) to create an audio CD with the file you've made.0

Thank you - looking forward to getting it converted :j0 -
There's a useful 'how-to' article in WikiHow here:

You can now get a USB cassette deck that can copy straight to MP3 on your PC. Saw one advertised in a colour supplement recently, was about £50. Obviously only worth it if you've got a lot of tapes to salvage. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Don't bother with the USB decks, as someone else said connect a jack cable from the headphone or lineout socket of your tape deck to the line input or mic socket of your PC. Job done.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

I've copied a few tapes to PC (mp3) using Audacity - as turbobob suggests. Worked a treat, and Audacity has options for removing hiss etc.0
