hi guys,
I'm a noob here, so pls accept my apologies if i make any unknown mistakes.
I owe debt which is now well over 6yrs old and 1st credit have been bombarding me with their letters. I contacted National Debtline, who gave me their template statute barred letter and told me to change a few things, which i have done.
Here are a couple of questions:-
1. Which is the correct postcode for 1st credit to send the statute barred letter to? - The reason i ask is because on their demand letter the postcode is RH2 7WB and on the reply envelope, the postcode is RH2 TZU.
2. Since there are several debts (although from the same bank) that 1st credit have taken over, do i send all statute barred letters all-in-one day or one later than the other? - The reason I ask is that i'm worried the letters may land on the desk of the same person who may decline accepting the statute barred status as i have different reference and account numbers or may try digging up more info.
I eagerly look forward to your replies.
thank u

Don't think it matters with the postcode - there is only one office for 1st Credit in Reigate so either way, it will get there. I live close to them (a bit too close) but don't hold this against me!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

lol...thanks very much m8. They've been bombarding me with loads of letters. I on the advice of National Debtline, checked if i had any ccj's under my name, but couldn't find any, although i did move loads of addresses, so i decided to write them a few statute barred letters.
In order to track down ccjs, could you pls tell me if they are placed under the name or address or is it both?0 -
Both,
You need to get your credit report and list down where you have lived for the last 6 years.
£2 each by post, for about £6 online (pay per month until you cancel). If you have not used them before online, 2 of them have free trials. Just remember to cancel.
Experian - http://www.experian.co.uk/wiseconsumer/
Equifax - https://www.econsumer.equifax.co.uk/consumer/uk/gb_consumerletter.ehtml
Call Credit - https://www.callcreditcheck.com/sign-up-1 (i think this is the £2 mail order one)Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
thanks darkconvict,
sorry, but forgot to mention that i've already checked my credit reports with experian and equifax online, but both show absolutely nothing. I was told by National Debtline that after 6yrs if i have ccj's they most likely will fall off the credit report and not show...that is the reason why i contacted the county courts directly, but still found nothing.0 -
Right, in which case you need to check them another way, sadly i can never remember what the website is called, but you submit an application and you get all the CCJs currently inforce against you.
Found it! http://www.trustonline.org.uk/Tixy wrote:Alternatively you could look for all CCJs registered on the trust online website to check she has no other later CCJs and to check the date of all CCJs (costs £8 though).Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

thats exactly what i was told to do mate...i was told to goto a website, pay some money and simply check under the addresses i think they may possibly have put ccjs, but i found nothing.0

If there is nothing at trust online, then i believe there are no CCJs against you.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

thanks mate. I'm just gonna have to send off the statute barred letters and see what they come up with.
I know i'm jumping the gun a bit, but if they don't reply for a long time, what sort of follow-up letter should i send them as i'd like a confirmation to know that i'm in the clear.0 -
Send statute barred by recorded delivery, keep a copy of the letter and recorded delivery number, and wait for a reply if you ever get one. Dont bother to follow up if they do not reply.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
