  • It's unusual for a shop to accept to repair for a single dead pixel.

Industry standard is for a certain number of dead pixels to be 'acceptable' depending on screen size. One would normally not be accepted for repair unless you took out a specific dead pixel warranty. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_13406-2
  • THANKS FOR THAT..MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE THE PIXEL IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN & IS VERY NOTICEABLE.

This has come up quite a few times before, and it is worth re-iterating that (as the wiki states) the ISO standard is actually only a voluntary guideline to industry.

While LCD panel makers would like us to believe that the standard determines what the consumer must accept, it does not. If you as a consumer are not specifically told about dead pixels when you buy, you have a right to define them as defects subsequently, and to exercise your rights under the Sale Of Goods Act.
  • :beer:THANKS MATE..DOES THIS MEAN THAT I HAVE TO ACCEPT THE REPAIR OR COULD I ASK FOR A REPLACEMENT TV?

There is a good summary of your rights here.

That page also has a link to the actual text of the Act, as your question I think is more specific than the summary covers.
  • very, very rare to find a dead pixel on a screen, which will be black or white, most usual is a 'stuck' pixel of red/green or blue/ Obviously try to get a new screen out of them, but if that feels step1 is just tapping the screen with your finger over the pixel, if that fails there is a plan b.
'Fixed" 1 monitor and 1 LCD TV doing this, 100% success rate so far :)
