Cheap parking in St Ives Cornwall, any local knowledge please?

We went last year, prices at the top of the hill carpark so dear. We like to take a picnic and stuff for the beach, carrying a bit, so would love to know of a reasonably priced car park or legal side road.

I'm still looking for decent accommodation in St. Ives too - just got TripAdvisor to go on at present (looking for something not too expensive in September).0 -
John Fowler Holiday Parks are really good, not sure of the St Ives one, we stay at Perranpotrh and travel down to St Ives.
Perran Sands is really clean, have two storey lodges, not sure on St Ives Park though, just put John Fowler holidays in on Google.0
