Would I benefit from "upto 20Meg Broadband"

Hi
I am currently on an "upto 8 meg" broadband, and here's a typical speed test:
Download Speed: 6519 kbps (814.9 KB/sec ) Upload Speed: 378 kbps
(47.3 KB/sec )
I do use peer to peer to download alot of files (scheduled for off peak times) and the faster my internet the better really. I wanted to move to upto 20Meg ADSL Max but the provider I was going to go with said my likely speed was up to 2Meg. I contacted them and they rose their estimate to upto 4.5Meg but even that estimate is still slower than what I currently get at the moment. I asked them if they would guarantee that I would get at least the same speed as I do with my current ADSL provider if I moved to their faster 20Meg service and they said no!
I wondered if someone could take a look at my stats and see if I'm likely to benefit from moving to upto 20Meg broadband?
ADSL Link
Connection speed Downstream 8128kbps
Connection speed Upstream 448kbps
Line Attenuation Downstream 30 db
Line Attenuation Upstream 8 db
Noise Margin Downstream 8 db
Noise Margin Upstream 27 db
These are the details for my exchange: http://samknows.com/broadband/exchange/EASBF
Samknows says I am roughly 1.4 kilometers away from my exchange, and Samknows estimates I can get ADSL2 up to roughly 7.5Mb
Can anyone tell from this whether I'm likely to benefit or not from ADSL Max upto 20 Meg?
All of the estimates I've done seem to say no, but they have all varied wildly in their estimates and none have taken into account my specific line stats which I've posted above. I don't know what they mean myself but hope someone does!
Thanks

seems the works here are "up to " . Doesnt mean you will get 20 mb . I would not of thought any isp would guarantee at certain speed . To may variables0

you are confusing your bits and your bytes0

They are working on an inaccurate estimate from BT.
30dB attenuation should see you on 10-14Mbps according to http://www.dslzoneuk.net/maxspeed2.php and as I get > 10Mbps with 37dB attenuation I'd put you at the higher end of that estimate so long as your internal wiring is up to par0 -
My ISP told me I can get 16Mb on ADSL+2,I know for a FACT I can only get 5Mb & 6-7Mb on ADSL+2.
ISP's WILL tell you you can get this speed in order to get you to buy the most expensive one FACT!
I used to get this all the time when I worked for Sky BBand when the punter would phone in complaining he/she was'nt getting the speed's the salesman promised!0 -
