When I type emails etc on this laptop the cursor jumps about so that it is necessary to keep cutting and pasting to put words in the right place. Today, I have had enough and have sent a message via one of the SONY web pages - that was an ordeal in itself. Interestingly though the cursor did not jump around on their pages. During the hour or two it has taken I noticed comments on their pages about an upgrade 5 and it having some connection to Windows 7. I have not bothered with either of these. Does it matter?

Chances are you are accidentally touching the touchpad with your hands as you type, causing the cursor to 'jump'.
Try turning off the touchpad and seeing if the fault continues.0 -
I agree with 5bellies. You could also try using a usb mouse with the touchpad off.Computers are like me, I get up in the morning and work...until I stop.0

Thank you both. Yesterday, it also occurred to me that it had something to do with using Internet Explorer (I don't know how to put AOL email on Firefox!). You would think that after ten years I had worked it out. Also, got a bit carried away with the font size! At the moment the cursor is shaking like mad. I realise that AOL and IE are both dirty words on here. Must get my act together but will say that AOL have always been great with me.0
