dvd editing on pc?

Options
Help!
I have some home videos that I want to burn onto dvds. Once I've done this, can I edit them on a pc? What's the best software to use for this? The videos we have are not great quality and where they've been transfered onto vhs from the camera tape there are gaps and overlaps of older footage etc. I want to edit it to tidy it up and perhaps fade in and out from each event. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

  • I use a paid for program Cyberlink PowerDirector for editing and production, but there are free alternatives. Once on DVD, I would convert the files to AVI, using something like BitRipper, then because this is probably the most common format, there are a dozen or more free editing programs available. I can't personally recommend any though, since I don't use them.
Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!
