Interesting that... The obvious differences I suppse being that the Luddites were prepared to try and make known their plight of not having jobs in a much more passionate way than we imagine the stereotypical chav- staffie at heel, sovereign at knuckle, spider web tattooed elbows lifting the can of stella to stubble surrounded lips

And that presumably the Government were no paying them handsomely for their protests? :cool:
