The "client base" of the public sector just keeps on growing. Along with that, so does the need for more people to service that client base.
Yes it is your job he is writing about

Funny you should mention that, it is an age old problem.

I think there is something in a comment that Ken Livingstone made that he has never been served coffee in London by someone with an English accent has something to it though.
That reminds of something said many moons ago. If you want directions in London it is better to ask a black person as they are more likely to speak English than a white person
that has probably changed a lot with the influx of asylum seekers. 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. NEARLY three-fifths of the growth in jobs under Labour during a decade in power was directly or indirectly created by the state, new research shows.
Across the country as a whole, it says 57% of new jobs created during the period 1997-2007 were state or “para-state” — dependent on government spending .
This figure is shocking, I suppose it explains where all the stealth taxes have been going
Wonder whats going to happen to these jobs when the cuts come calling0 -
soon everyone will be working for the governmentAs an investor, you know that any kind of investment opportunity has its risks, and investing in Stocks or Precious Metals is highly speculative. All of the content I post is for informational purposes only.0

If it's for an accountant, why the f***** f*** do they not say 'accountant'. What kind of job description is 'value for money co-ordinator'??? I guess they must have daily get togethers with the 'five a day co-ordinators' to make sure that 'five' is giving us value for money!0 -
Here's another egregious example:
http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/job/961896/assistant-senior-community-safety-officer/
Assistant Senior Community Safety Officer, West Yorks Fire & Rescue Service
"An exciting opportunity has arisen for West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service to appoint an assistant to the Senior Community Safety Officer."
Wow, that sounds important...
"the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Senior Community Safety Officer can deliver targets...."
"Salary: £37,206 to £41,616 per annum"
"Benefits include a 37 hour flexible working week, free parking and *Local Government Final Salary Pension Scheme.*"
More well paid bean-counters...that's what the country needs to get back on its feet!0 -

Of course, delivering the Whitehall Targets is what it is all about. What a sad state of affairs we are all in.0 -
nothing will happen for a few years... cuts will be here (if needed) when the recovery is in full swingWonder whats going to happen to these jobs when the cuts come calling

Although I think many people have misinterpreted this comment. It might sound like an 'floods of immigrants' side swipe. However, I think the point he was making was that working in Mcdonalds or Starbucks are relatively low paid unglamourous jobs which unfortunately too many British citizens regard as beneath them. I would add that I rarely hear an English accent when the office cleaners come around or when I have found a public toilet with an attendant!0
