In readiness for the great digital changeover in my region next year, I have decided to go down the satellite route simply because I can pick up all of the components free of charge from my employment activities (house clearance).
So far, I have installed it in two rooms with no probs and my hopes were raised this week when I came across a new Thomson box. I changed it with the Pace box which was giving perfect audio and video and that’s when the disappointment set in. Sound was OK but the picture was suffering from vertical hold probs ? (The one where there are lines across the screen). Nowadays there are no external controls on T.V.s to cure this (not like when I was a lad). My mate tried the box on his T.V. (also of the CRT variety) and he had perfect results.
Can anyone suggest any solutions please ?

Try changing the RF on the box,Get your remote & press
SERVICES

0-1-SELECT
4-RF OUTLETS
Change the RF to 60 or ?? & press SAVE NEW.(Trial & error on this bit tho)
Failing that,try a different RF cable.0 -
Sussed the problem, the Pace box was connected via an autoscart. When I connected the Thomson box direct to the T.V. it worked a treat, it just plays up via the autoscart. The Thomson box is probably not compatible with the autoscart.
It looks like plan b, I'll have to keep my eyes open for a Pace box0
