Is this laptop any good for my needs?

Ok, sorry if this should have gone in the 'cheapest decent laptop' thread, but as nobody has posted on it for 2 days, I thought I might get a better response with a thread of my own.

Looking for a new laptop for the wife. It will only really be used for surfing, social networking, watching the odd program on BBCiplayer etc and storing photos, not much else. She wants a really big screen, the weight doesn't matter as she only ever uses it sat in her chair in the lounge, or in bed.

Can anyone give any opinions on this:

Seems a good price for a decent spec and from a reliable manufacturer (her current laptop is a fujitsu, and ahe has used it daily for 4 years), and impotantly, has a HUGE screen.

Oddly I can't seem to find many reviews on it

Thanks.

Olias

    Seems a very good price.

Celeron processors are affectionately referred to as Celery's for a reason.
The laptop is not going to set the World alight.

Despite that, it should be fine for the things you describe.
  • the 2 reviewers on argos liked it (except the vista hater lol)
thats a HUGE screen lol, looks like a good buy for your needs etc.

Seems like a good price for such a huge screen. As for the relatively slow Cellophane processor, I wouldn't worry about it unless you're planning to run mission control for the first manned Mars shot. "Relative" is very much the appropriate word for these kinds of things!

  • seems ok, though the cpu and disk spec arent absolutely amazing. Pity its Vista, not Windows7 (did someone already say that ;) ).
It is a v large screen laptop, and correspondingly heavy, not that you mind. prob pretty good for movies etc.
