I am on a DMP with payplan, and I pay £90 a month towards my £7k of debts (with 5 creditors). I have been on this for 3 years now, but Halifax are still adding interest and late charges and everything else and are starting to harass me again:mad:
Anyway, my husband is now terminally ill:(:(:(:( and I have had to give up work to care for him and our 4 children...... I now cannot afford the £90:( I have looked into a Debt Relief Order but my pension which I started last year is now £446 so that counts me out doesn't it?? Or is there ANY leeway?
I am finding Payplan not that great to be honest....I send my payment on about the 20th each month and it doesn't reach my creditors til about 1st or 2nd of the following month so i keep getting letters about arrears and late fees still - 3 years on:mad: it feels i am treading water but not moving forward
Would CCCS be able to help anymore do you think?
are there any charities that could help me or could i write somewhere and magic up £5k to offer settlement to these creditors due to my situation?
I can't deal with this on top of what else is happening.....want it all to go away:(

i feel your pain, i have heard cccc are better, and from someoone else on here there maybe some other charities that could help too! do you get a carrers allowance?0

ceejaydee, thanks
What are these other charities, do you mean who might be able to help me with a lump sum, or am I dreaming?;) 0 -
CCCS work on the same kind of system of taking payment at the beginning of the month, and then paying out on the 25th.
If you feel you are being harassed then write to complain, if they continue then take it further and report them to the OFT etc0 -
No-one will be able to help you with a lump sum - sorry but that is dreaming.
The others may handle your DMP better or more how you prefer it - it's horses for courses.
What will need to happen is that you get the DMP amount changed to what you can afford - if that is £1 a month to each then that's what it is.
Have you checked you are getting all the benefits and credits you are entitled to?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Yes I did guess I was dreaming, but with my husband dying, I guess dreaming is the only way I can cope with everything
Can the CCCS make creditors flexible with the date of my payment??
Just read CCCS take payment at beginning of the month....well if it was more like £20 or £30, then I could manage that0 -
p.s yeah getting everything we're entitled to0

The charities take payment on one day and it's normal that they take a certain time to pay it to your creditors - they all do this. No-one can make your creditors flexible - a DMP is entirely down to the goodwill of your creditors and always will be.
If you prefer then you can do a self-administered DMP - that way you would control when the payments are sent etc. There are plenty of people on here who are "doing it for themselves" as it were...
It won't necessarily change the late letters and fee's etc though. If any of your debts are CCs and storecards have you reclaimed any unfair charges? If any of your debts have PPI have you reclaimed this if it was mis-sold?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

i guess i am just wondering if CCCS are more successful at dealing with creditors than Payplan are0

Have you told Payplan about the fact there are late fees being added etc? And that they are chasing you?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
