We too bought the Bissell Pro heat x2 ,from Ideal world and I agree with Sliverbird ,It does a good job.It leaves the carpets almost dry to the touch.
It will also keep up the warranty if you have "Scotchgaurd" treated carpets. You get an aplicator with the Bissell together with 1 free sample of Scotchguard.Treat your own carpet once a year instead of hiring someone to do it,otherwise your warranty is void.
It amazed me how much grime came out of our carpets even though we all take our shoes off at the door.Having 2 terriers didn't help I guess, might need to buy them slippers:D.We also have 2 children too.It made a great job of the car upholstery too.
Using it set for "Heavy traffic" does drink the cleaning fluid though.Ideal world was the cheapest place to buy it from,we even used shopping bots to check.0 -
I have been looking at carpet cleaners on and off for ages. I usually hire an industrial cleaner once or twice a year and go through the entire house (well upstairs and the stairs) but also do the car seats.
How well do these products compare with the industrial cleaners? I have 2 kids (daughter who is 9 and I am sure you can imagine what make up is in the carpets )
thanks
Hi
If anyone can answer this I to would be interested in the answer. We have wool carpets throughout that are filthy due to a young family and husband who doesn't see what's wrong with leaving his work boots on!
They were last cleaned 5 years ago and it cost £80 for someone to come and do them. I dread to think how much it would cost now and I also need to do a couple of carpets at a relatives house. I was going to hire one but am not sure how effective the ones you can hire are or the cost.
Would it be more cost effective and better result with a hot water one, but is drying time ridiculous. The one I would be interested in buying is the bissell proheat upright deep cleaner 57g7e as Costco have it at £105 at the moment.
Any help would really be appreciated.

I reckon Bissell are best. I've got a vax carpet cleaner and it's carp. Anything goes wrong and you've got to ring their extortionately priced "help"line to be patronised by their customer "service" staff.
My Bissell vacuum cleaner is ace though0 -

I bought this from argos on offer at the end of last year
It is the best carpet washer I have owned (had 2 vax cylinder & upright version and kirby)
Makes a great job of cleaning your carpet the hot water does really make a difference in my opinion. On the subject of drying times if you keep going over the carpet until it you can't see any water coming out it. The carpet will be damp not soaking.
As a rule I clean my carpet either late at night then by morning they are dry or if I know that room won't be used for the rest of the day to give it a chance to dry.
Hope this of help to you I paid more for mine even on offer but it was still worth the money!
Also there was a leaflet in the box - when you register the washer with bissell - 2 year warranty.0 -
I just bought a Bissell 9500E ProHeat 2X PLUS Carpet Shampooer 9500E. I used it at the weekend to clean a cream carpet with some very old stains in. It worked beautifully and got just about every mark out. It is easy to use and more importantly easy to clean when finished! I was quite impressed as I thought it might be more fiddly. I bought it from Great 4 Floors at about a £100 off the Bissell price. If you deal with Great 4 Floors don't bother e-mailing any queries - they don't answer! I had a problem with only half of my delivery arriving and after several e-mails not being answered rang the sales number and sorted it out. Be aware too that they take the whole amount from your bank account even if they are out of stock for a week or two!0
