As a serving member I had accident and death insurance with Pax+ insurance - specific policies for the armed forces - anywhere in the world 24/7.
When I got de-mobbed, I continued the policy but the name was changed to x-pax.
After 20 years of custom - this company slipped a clause into their terms and conditions that anyone who is outside of the EEA for more than 180 days in a row will have their policy cancelled. This additional clause is not highlighted in their letters and was slipped in about 6 months ago.
I am currently overseas and found out I have no insurance cover now.
How long have YOU been detached away ?
