Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Congratulations kristi. My advice would be, if buying baby clothes, dont buy too many first size, as they grow out of them so quickly. Make the most of charity shops, e-bay and bootsales. Also, if your family/friends are anything like mine, you'll get loads of things given, baby items have gone full circle in my family, and most of the stuff is still usable.

Hey honey,
Congratulations!!! Hope you have a happy healthy 9 months.
Someone has already suggested to you about cotton bottoms reusable nappies. I am also pregnant and I have just bought some reusable nappies, but they were much cheaper than the cotton bottom ones.
Check out https://www.littlelamb.co.uk
I got a starter pack which gave me 20 shaped nappies, 10 nappy wraps, 20 boosters, 20 fleece liners, a roll of 200 disposable liners and a nappy bucket for £99.
This amount should do you if you don't mind doing a washing every day, I plan on buying 10 more nappies which should cost £55, so I will only need to do a washing every 2nd day.
The nappies have different ways of fastening the velcro so the 1st size nappies will do a baby from 7lbs in weight (newborn) to 20lbs in weight (5/6months)
So that works out at like £150 for 6 months worth of nappies.
Enjoy your pregnancy.
P.S I am also a member of a pregnancy community forum you should check that out too lots of advice and chat about babies and baby things https://www.babytalkzone.com (my screen name is melfi)Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
Congratulations :j
Get your sleep in NOW :rotfl: . I'm so lucky that DD was sleeping 12 hours at night by the time she was 3 months but it still didn't feel like I was getting enough, so enjoy your sleep whilst you can.
Buy stuff when you see it on offer. Don't buy too many clothes, you'll get loads of stuff given you off people you don't even know. People seem to be so generous when it comes to babies. Buy stuff off car boots, jumble sales, ebay and resell when you've done with it.
Most important thing is to enjoy it all, enjoy being pregnant when everyone is asking and concerned about you. The minute the baby is born you get thrown out of the window and everyone asks about the baby not you :rotfl:. .
Good Luck0 -
