Mobile Phones in Bankruptcy

After speaking with solicitors I am due to file for bankruptcy. As odd as it may sound I need advice around my mobile phone contracts.
I have heard that in some cases the official recieved may tell you that you can keep your mobile phone contracts going. Is this true and under what circumstances would this be permitted?
Rightly or wrongly I am thinking of selling my two mobile phones to create some cash to be able to buy a pay as you go mobile phone in anticipation of losing my mobile phone contracts. However if the recieved turns round and says I can keep my mobile contracts going then I will have sold them for no reason. Maybe I should wait until I speak to the OR but by then my phones may have already been blocked or they may ask for the phones towards the debt and if we haven't got them could we get in trouble? So many questions to consider.
I am hoping someone can provide answers to the questions but also tell me how things like contracts being cancelled works..will it happen the same day I go to court or could it take a few weeks for the mobile phone company to find out and cancel the contracts? Can the mobile companies do anything about it if I had sold the phones?
Any advice around this would be good, and hopefully some answers to the questions.
Thanks

i never put my mobile phone contract down in my bankruptcy. as i was up to date with the payments. and a little in credit with them as well. the or never asked me about a mobile contract . so i never said anything. i kept the payments on my mobile contract up to date right through my bankrupcty. and now am discharged not sure if this is the right or wrong thing to do though. but i am sure my mobile phone provider are none the wiser on my bankruptcy0

Well that sounds like a plan...can anyone confirm if it's illegal to not declare your mobile phone contracts? I thought you had to list every bill and every contract going even if your not in debt to them? By not declaring it could you be commiting a criminal offence?
Any more info / opinion on the original post?0 -
i did put my mobile expense in my living costs on my forms so the or would have seen it. he never asked me about it in my interview. if i can remember rightly you only list people/companys you are in debt with on the forms. as i was not in debt with my mobile phone provider i did not list them0

lol though i could be completly wrong though.0

How much did you put down (roughly) for your mobile phone living expenses? Or was it just one figure including ALL living expenses?
I have three phones (yeah, I know) and in debt to none of them. So i can't imagine they would be happy if I declared I had three phones, but if I listed the total cost under a one figure living expenses then they wouldn't notice??0 -
i only have the one phone and my monthly cost is £20 i never went above £20 either and only really used my free minutes so my bill always stayed the same . i think if i can remember your allowed £20 mobile costs anyway with your living costs0

trying to remember my forms but i think there is a total monthly phone bill i put £50 if i remember which was my home and mobile combined my OR had no problem with this0

also you do have to think about your not allowed more than £500 credit in bankruptcy you must declare your bankrupt. not sure if your 3 phones would be more than £500 so watch out for that one as well. what we need here is a expert to help you0

I had 2 mobile contracts when I went BR, one for me one for my eldest daughter (which she gives me the money for). I listed the cost of my own under telephone as that and my landline combined came to £15 less than the allowance.
Are all 3 phones actually yours/Paid for by you? If so you will probably have a problem keeping all three.0 -
What do you mean credit? Credit in regards to what? Sorry, new to this, naturally. Do you mean your not allowed contract items worth more than £500? If so, what else would fall into this category?0
