Hi,
Every so often I get on my laptop and some sites just dont load up. The 'connecting' timer shows but the sites dont load. Its only one or two though. The sites are not anything that they shouldn't be (if you know what I mean) and dont have content that the security levels would stop them - I havent changed anything like that.
Any ideas why ?

there could be a few reasons - your browser may have require an update ,(or it has updated already and this is causing the problem - I know it can be awkward like that - kinda like Ralph Wiggum from the Simpsons "HEY RALPH - if you're nose is bleeding - its because you are picking it too much , , , or not enough).
Things like flash player may need updating or other addons that may be run by the website in question.
Your PC may need a cleanup (run disk cleanup to get rid of excess files - including cookies, etc that may be causing problems - also a scan for malware with software such as malwarebytes - antimalware)
Your router and or modem may require resetting (usually by switching them off and then back on again > Modem first then Router).
Also you may have an intermittent problem with an ISP - If you try a trace route to the website or IP address it may show if there is a path to the website.
In XP click Start > then Run . type in CMD
Vista click start then type in the dialogue box near the bottom > CMD
In the black box that appears type tracert followed by the website or ipaddress.
for example "tracert www.google.com"
You will then get a list of addresses that the data takes to get from your PC to the destination.
a series of ** may mean that the destination is unreachable - this could mean that a router or switch is malfunctioning along the route.

It could also be something as simple as the amount of traffic on the internet, or the websites themselves may be getting too much traffic to cope with.
Going through a step at a time:
If you can usually get most websites to load up without problems, or even these websites in particular then it is unlikely to be your laptop/PC
If you run tracert to the website in question and the trace completes successfully then you have ruled out a connection problemDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

Any problems with your isp?
What OS are you using?
Do you clear your laptop of cookies ect.?
If not download CCleaner from filehippo.com and see if it makes any difference
Don't tick the Yahoo Toolbar when CCleaner asks you if you want it, you don't want that and when downloaded leave it at its default settings when you run it.0 -
