can i get any free HDTV channels

hello i have just bought a new laptop with HD output and have hooked it up to my HD tv, i have been watching the BBC-HD iplayer programs but to be honest there is nothing any good to watch, what i was wondering was are there any sites where i can watch free HD movies or Programs Or even better football LOL, any way if anyone knows of any such site please could you share with me thankyou.:)
