Skin Allergies: skin friendly detergents, toiletries etc

Sorry, I haven't read the whole of this thread, but here are the things I use for a body skin condition:-
Washing (onesself!) - I have been advised to use stuff without SLS and low/no perfume, so I used Dermol shower emollient ~(prescribed but you can buy it online etc), also Green People shower gels and the new Body Shop's 'Earth Lovers' shower gel (unperfumed one), which I find is excellent. I also use Epaderm ointment, which I asked for at a Boots pharmacy, but you can get it prescribed as well, it is a great barrier while you wash your hair, so the lather from the shampoo or conditioning treatments doesn't affect my body skin, then it washes off easily afterwards and moisturises at the same time.
Washing (clothes) - Non bio stuff, fairy gel, no fabric conditioners/dryer sheets.
Think that's it as far as what I've had to change about what I use, hope this helps.0 -
I have terribly sensitive skin. I basically avoid soad as far as possible
Clothes washing - Fairy, half a dose
Fabric conditioner - Ecover
Washing up - any as I use sensitive gloves
Facial wash etc - Clinique extra mild
Shampoo - E45 Shampoo and conditioner - not very MSE!!!
Hand and body wash - aqueous cream
Body Lotion - Aveeno0 -

I can't use E45 etc or anything with lanolin in it. Doublebase has the least additives in it. Its a great all rounder for cleansing, washing and moisturising and a little goes a long way as it looks like a cream but once you rub it in it sort of turns oily.
100% second this - doublebase is amazing! I would not be without it for the world now! I have it pescribed by my doctor. If you put it on before a shower/bath it also acts as a barrier preventing the skin being 'dried out' by the water 9bad for anyone with a dry skin condition)
I keep everything simple. Non bio washing powder, pure fabric conditioner, no shower gel, rarely use soap. Have used clinique three step in the past but skin far too sensitive for it now, just use doublebase. Dont wear any make up if I can help if, for days I do its a little concealer, mascara and blusher. Stick to the same brands/products and rarely change.
Have finally been referred for allergy tests. Found a lovely doctor that is understanding how difficult I am finding managing my skin (have had perioral dermatitis for 6 months now) and says as I have a 'allergic profile' she would refer me although this isnt standard practice.
