Don't visit this forum a lot but when I did here was a thread which just covered what I need - thanks kind people.
My OH has recently developed a little but tickly rash all over where his shirt goes on his back (it's clearly just a small rash and nothing more sinister ), so I've tried using non-bio washing stuff with no effect. Now I am going to have to try other products - Boots do a 'Sensitive skin' range - has anyone tried those ? But the Q I wanted most to ask is about Ecover: I think of them as being nicer for the environment, but do they make any claims to be better for the skin ? And do people find them less irritant than 'ordinary' products ? I have read all these posts and realise it's a very individua; thing and we need to keep trying things, but I've always wondered if Ecover things were good for the World or also for the skin on our bodies ?

I've used soap flakes in the machine for years now - very cheap and work fine on anything except the worst stains. I have a water softener though so if you live in a hard water area you may need to add soda crystals. With soft water a heaped teaspoon is enough - over dosing will lead to loads of bubbles coming out of the dispenser draw (ask me how I know!)

My son has excema which started as a baby and sort of cleared up at 14 with the odd flair up if he uses the wrong products. He can handle Aerial on his clothes but if he uses Persil he is in trouble, it was a problem at uni as he shared a house and one of his housemates used Persil, even in a seperate wash using Aerial he felt the effects poor lad.

Hope you find the right products to keep her comfortable.

Very weird one, but are the Fem Fresh needed, as they may be causing the problem and not helping it. Would baby wipes or toilet wipes be more appropriate?

Fem fresh contains witch hazel which I'm highly allergic too so this may be the problem?

I tried clinique after being recommended it as a gentle skin care routine. 3 hours later I look like a pizza and my face is burning!!

Are you suggesting that one should wipe instead of washing?

My toddler son looked to be early stages of eczma so I stopped washing with laundry powder and bought eco balls. Im not turning back now, they are fab. I no longer need conditioner either. his skin and the rest of the familys is much better for it. I swapped all his baby toiletries for a bar of aleppo soap made from olive and bay oil, pricey at £5 a bar but last ages and prob works out cheaper than all the other body washes, shampoos, lotions etc. The further I I go looking for chemical free toiletries the more annoyed I get at the years weve been told 'this is safe, natural, good for you etc' when its now looking like the huge leap in the number of eczma sufferes asthma etc are down to the chemicals weve been sold:mad:
