Plasterers Quote

I have received quotes ranging from £2000 to £2600 to plaster a 3 bed house in Lancashire.
The job involves skimming the walls, ceilings and applying coving to all rooms.
Walls and ceiling paper already stipped and prepared (dryline/over board) by a friend. The house is empty and free of furniture and clutter.
Rooms sizes
Lounge/Dining: 6.8m x 3.1m
Kitchen: 2.9m x 2.4m
Bedroom 1: 3.6m x 3m
Bedroom 2: 3m x 3m
Bedroom 3: 2.1m x 1.8m
Hall & Landing: 1.8m x 3m

Is this a fair price for the job?

Id have said that was a bit steep going on lincolnshire prices. Here if it bwas an average size 3 bedroom house we would be paid about £900 especialy as you have done all the preperation work, and its basicly new skim work.
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

Yes Dryliner/plasterer but i was quoting what i would get paid for the job as a subcontractor. I still think what she has been quoted is far too high.

  • Thanks for your replies.. The contractors are supplying all materials i.e. coving, plaster, adhesives etc. Oh by the way I'm based in Preston.
