After reading many many posts on here regarding DSR I wonder if they actually need amending, as such to protect a business as well.
Some people, may buy a Laptop and then three days later the same laptop is offered for a cheaper price at another store, so they think I'm going to return this computer, demand that the supplier pay the return postage and demand back my original delivery charge, plus that supplier cannot sell the laptop for the full amount. However i guess this is a more extreme example.
I'm sure that this is not a prevalent occurance, but as more and more people continue to abuse the DSR's either the consumer laws will be amended or more companies will base themselves outside of UK jurisdiction....

The supplier does not have to pay for return postage, but otherwise it can be like that. It's one of the pitfalls of online retailing.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Whilst your point is valid, 2 things...
1. a laptop if used could not be returned under DSR as The software (OS) would be activated. This is a specific exclusion of DSR. Also DSR states consumers must take reasonable care i.e not damage the product. So in this case, they only way in which a laptop could be returned is if it was in new and UNUSED (due to software) condition. Therefore the retailer could sell it on for full retail.
2. Remember that DSR also allow businesses to cancel orders up to dispatch if they state so in their terms. This allows them to cancel orders for any reason which is often seen as unfair to consumers (myself NOT included). What im saying is that DSR is actually good for businesses in some cases which often offsets when businesses loses out.
I do think though, DSR should change to make consumers take care of packaging (boxes for the item etc) so the next buyer would not be able to tell its been opened before.Back by no demand whatsoever.0
