Beccadan, what I would do is phone the company you have changed to telling them the result of the website you used. Ask them will I save the amount stated, record the conversation, telling them that you are. Hopefully, then you might have a honest answer.
Don't hold your breath mind. You read on this energy site how people are exited because thay are getting something like perhaps £15 for changing using them. Who do you think is paying for all this. Us, the stupid British public.0 -
You need to put your usage in KWH not £££ into the price comparison site to get the most accurate result. Your house won't be as cold by the time the baby comes, and the recommended ambient temperature for babies is only 16 to 1C. What is the insulation in the house like? Can you get this improved?
Why is your hot water on for three hours a day? We manage on half an hour. Also why are you heating the whole upstairs for three hours a day? How much time are you actually spending upstairs but not in bed? Have you considered putting an electric underblanket on your bed? These cost pennies to run. Are you using a tumble dryer a lot? What temperature do you do laundry at?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

The three hours upstairs are an hour at night and an two in the morning, which is now an hour and a half in the morning. The hot water tank is heated by the radiator water (which is very fast about 4 mins to v hot) via a seperate valve on the boiler system but on with the heating for one hour in the morning.
read yesterday 28036 and today 28100. And the underfloor heating is 2.2kw when heating then on thermostat. nothing left on standby I just dont get how we use so much?0 -
I have not done the maths to convert to £ but I can tell you 64units a day is a lot of electric, an aweful lot.
its either a faulty meter or you need to cut back.
seems you do use a lot of heating so I am not convinced the meter is at fault and it could well be just an expensive lifestyle.
I respect everyone has different tolerence to cold levels and you are pregnant but at the very least I would suggest stop heating the rooms you not in, and only heat water for baths. Use the kettle for washing up dishes and even your hands and face.0
