The standard accom is more than adequate if you are not planning to spend a lot of time in your room. It is possible that you will be upgraded anyway, a fair number of standard bookings are. If the cost to upgrade is reasonable, I would do it, but I suppose everyones idea of reasonable is different?!

Hi i have been to minehead several times(with the sun)sometimes have been upgraded for free. The only difference we found was ,a microwave and leather furniture in the silver, so personnally would stick with standard, you can hire a microwave if you wish, think it was around £9.

Standard is incredibly awful !, definately upgrade, Minehead is lovely though.
  • Hi, sorry to hi-jack your thread but I have been offered the chance to take my children there with a day pass during the half term. The price of travelling bumps the price up considerably and I want to know if anyone has ever visited on a day pass and if they think it is worth it. My children are 4 and 6.

    Thanks xxx

  • hi standard accomodation is adequate, we went on the sun hols in Oct there and it is fab. Our son 3yr old loved it he desperate to go back but we couldnt get it on the sun hols this year :( looking for last min offers but they dont discount that much.

It is a long walk from the car park to most of the standard accomodation, they do give you trolleys but make sure your stuff is packed in portable bags/cases for ease. Once inthe accomodation it is big enough and clean enough wouldnt waste your money upgrading.

    Have a fab time.

Depends what you're looking to get out of the day? there is a Bob the Builder adventure area which is ideal for your kids and will keep them occupied for an hour or so, you can also spend a couple of hours in the fun swimming pool, again its ideally suited to young children.

The Skyline Pavillion has all day entertainment with magic shows and childrens shows and if you're lucky one of the other bars will have a pantomine or wrestling etc, there are also a few amusement arcades and an outdoor funfair with a couple of rides that your children could cope with.

Minehead is such a lovely place and I have returned there time and time again.

    Hi there,

I am plannning on booking butlins minehead for early July, does anyone know the cheapest way to travel from Glasgow?

If anyone has made this route before, I would appreciate some help

    Thank you :D
  • Hi there

I would think that National Express would be the easiest and cheapest. The overnight trip from London to Glasgow and back I did last May. It was quick and easy. Bus ends at Victoria Bus Station in London and you can get another coach from their straight thru to Minehead. Check it out on line www.nationalexpress.co.uk Good luck.

Just come back from Butlins minehead. Best holiday camp I've ever stayed at.

VERY clean, decent size apartments and excellent facilities.
