toilet cistern troubles

Have an ensuite bathroom. Its about 6 years old. Over the past few days i have noticed it is taking an age for the cistern to fill it up. Up to 10-15mins.

Here's the problem , It's a completely sealed system. With one push button (i can pull the push button out and it's connected to a clear rubber tube).

The other problem is the developer being rubbish hasn't made any access panels so i can't access the cistern with out ripping out tiles and the wall.

Any ideas what this can be or is it literally not possible with out ripping down the wall?

thanks

have u noticed any other items/outlets have lose in pressure recently,as anyone done a work on the water main out in the roads (lots of burst pipes this time of year)if not then afraid the ans is you need to get to the inlet valve in the cistern by what ever method it takes, the inlet might have bit of crud/scale in it but check if it has an isolating/ballafix valve first & make sure they are fully open.ps i never understand why people tile there cisterns in with no access, one day you will need to get into it for sure
  • Are you sure there is no access?

Some are very well hidden & even look fully tiled.
    Not Again
  • Have looked everywhere and there are no access points at all:(

the other toilet seems to be working fine so i guess i may just have to bite the bullet and when it finally stops working pull it all down.

    Hi

If you can post some photos of the set up maybe someone can help.
Some cisterns are designed to be serviced from the top.

A photo would be a help for intending posters. There was a similar thread last year sometime. It seems the height of arrogance to me that an installer does not provide access. I suspect that this is because the installer is not likely ever to have to do any maintenance on the installation and therefore does not give a toss. When I built my house I knew that if anything went wrong, it was going to be me who had to fix it. Therefore, access and convenient isolation were priorities. I suggest that if there is genuinely no access provided, you ensure that something is done ASAP. When there is a serious leak, that is no time to be trying to gain rapid access.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • Will create a photo hosting account and upload a photo but besides the push button (a small round one ) there is nothing. The wall goes straight up to the ceiling. So i don't think there is an access point from the top. I have given it a good search today but cannnot find any hint of an access point.

Pretty mad really, lazy !!!!!!s if you ask me.

What is in the floor above?

No reason you cant have a cistern the next floor up depending on the button mechanism.
