is there a tool to check what other items buyers are bidding on please? I've sold a high price item to a low feedback bidder and they havent paid yet, so just want to have a look at their recent activity.

Yes there is, it's Advanced Search and you can find it in the top right hand corner of your ebay screen
Click that and go to Items by Bidder and enter their ID.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
