what can i use to cover my big outdoor containers from frost once ive planted them up,needs to be something v cheap or homemade

    Old net curtains? They seem to work as well as horticultural fleece just to keep frost off. If what you've planted out is quite tender the frost may well still get to them even if they're covered as it's still so early in the year, so perhaps stand them somewhere very sheltered too?
