How long should my tyre last?
I just had to buy a new tyre as the old one split right across from inside to out, I used the same garage as last time and have just noticed when filing the invoice that I only had the tyre changed last year at the end of April, my wife mainly drives the car but it only does about 8000 miles a year so it seems a bit strange for it to need replacing so soon.
Should I go back to the garage and querie this or am I just being paranoid?

A split would normally be down to some sort of damage and not wear.0

Tyre pressures have a direct bearing on how long tyres last.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Also she probably drives either on full throttle or full brakes,...
My boss made a set of tyres last 80,000 once. It's all down to driving style.0 -
Tyres can sometimes suffer from premature failure due to manufacturing faults, but this does sound like it's hit something (like a kerb). That being the case, I'd take the keys off her until she proves she can driveFight Crime : Shoot Back.

lower tyre pressures can cause excess wear - The tyre will move around more and overheat. But this wouldnt really cause a split unless the wear was right down to the canvas, but it would be unlikely that you wouldnt have spotted canvas starting to show.
As above - damage caused by hitting something, or the tyre itself could have been faultyDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

Try a warranty claim with the manufacturer. You can get a claim form from a tyre retailer, most manufacturers are reasonable (though not all, one in particular are notorious at knocking back claims).Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
