Incidentally, I don't think anyone need to worry about posties signing for goods anymore to do a favour for someone:

I would file the dispute today.

I thought tracked delivery items had the weight recorded on it, so surely with your previous incident, a watch would have weighted much more than a leaflet?

If you do get scammed again, you can take the seller to the small claims court, which is all done online nowadays.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

plus it would be too heavy to have sent second class anyway as you can only send second class up to 750g, and a ps3 will weigh more than that for sure. Escalate the claim and see what paypal can do

I've had a genuine PayPal claim found in the seller's favour because they provided a tracking number for an empty envelope. Stupidly I signed for it, but receiving large amounts of mail every day, I thought nothing of it. PayPal didn't take my information re: weight into account, instead finding in the seller's favour almost as soon as the tracking info was uploaded.

This was two years ago though, so not sure if things have changed.

Actually RM business users can send up to 1.99kg second class. And whats more, the weight issue is not relevant for businesses, certainly the post I use has no weight recorded. I can send up to 5kg and do not record this in any specific way unless using Special Delivery - and then it is only a bracket weight.

i mentioned it as they said that the person sent it second class, but the weight of the item sent is recorded on the certificate of postage. Did not know that about the weight of 2nd class for businesses, i just know it from the side of a normal customers point of view

  • Be careful with not signing for things, it'll show up as refused and paypal may find in the buyers favour. It's happened to my OH and sister now, and paypal have emailed to say that because delivery was attempted, it is enough.

    Something to bare in mind!
