max fence height allowed mid-terrace

Friend lives in a mid terrace local authority owned place with thier 3 young children, next door neighbour one side is a jobless, lazy, beer drinking and weed smoking lay about who's forever shouting and swearing at his own kids, and hanging over fence to 'chat' (although no one likes him). Was wondering whats the max height fence allowed to be errected between the gardens, basically to prevent mr asbo being a pain in the butt

I would think, just my common sense kicking in but if its at the side it would be 2 metres.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I think you are correct. Its 2 metres at the back and 1 metre at the front IIRC.

    Cheers

yep its two metres at the back sides.
However if its not a manmade fence it can go higher.
I would dig a pit line it and back fill with soil and manure and chuck in some bamboos.

    Job done.

Not to put a dampener on things, but my friend lives in a terraced house, and they are only allowed 4ft fence between all the gardens, which is a bummer as everyone can see what everyone else is doing.
Check the paperwork on the house, as sometimes it will tell you what size fence your allowed to put up.

some house deeds do have covenants in them such as the above.
however only the original freeholder can enforce them.
so in practice they are hardly ever enforced.

I think you can go over the standard 6', if the top bit is a tressil.

2 metres is the max whatever it's made from.
