I currently have a Barclaycard and Barclaycard gives you the opportunity to have a 2nd credit card and application process is done in 2 easy steps. Does anyone knows if they perform a full credit check or do they assess you based on how your managing your current Barclaycard?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Stephane,
The application will be based on the information they already hold about you of which is refreshed in real time.0 -
Thank you Cash Flow...so no search will appear on either Experian or Equifax? I just want to keep my file clean at moment0

I would not have thought so.
But when in life is anything a certainty?
Why do you need a second card, why not just increase the limit?
The only time I have seen a second credit search from Barclaycard is when I have appplied for a Barclayloan.0 -
I only use my current Barclaycard for balance transfer so would like that one just for general purchases0

Hi
I just wanted to say that it will, as you have to sign a credit agreement. It say that by signing it online you will agree to enquirys to credit reference agency0 -

Effect whilst I agree that you do sign online, When I applied no credit search was conducted against either Equifax or Experian.
I can only speak about my own experience, and I am sure the same applies to you.
Ps by agreeing to a credit search it does not automatically mean the lender will perform a CRA check.0 -

If the second card is for an additional card holder then usually, there is only an identity check done. This is because you as the main card holder will be liable for any debts of the additional card holders (so they don't need to fully check the extra card holders).
However, if barclaycard are offering you a second separate card and account, then there may be a new full credit check just like applying for a new card. I haven't come across this so don't know the answer in this case.0 -

Stephane was asking about a 2nd Barclaycard product for herself.JohalaReewi wrote: »However, if barclaycard are offering you a second separate card and account, then there may be a new full credit check just like applying for a new card. Maybe or maybe not that is the question.0 -

Having already a Barclaycard which I use for balance transfers, I applied for another Barclaycard to use for general purchases, I have been accepted however with a much lower credit limit compare to my current £6,600 but Barclaycard has not performed any credit check or identity check with Equifax or Experian.0 -

I love it when I am right0
