    I know its only a basic laptop in the big scheme of things but I don't see why they are unable to fix it. He seems to think that getting a new motherboard would be near impossible for this model of laptop. It's an e-systems and not more than 2/3 yr old.

    Should I hold out for a replacement laptop where I am paying no more than the original cost of the repair it went in for?
