My dh flew back home with BA last night (friday) and they could not find his bag. He went to the desk and logged it etc and informed them he is flying back with them sunday (tomorrow) and needs the stuff in the bag, this was put on a note on the file and shows on the on-line tracking info.
We check the status of the bag today and they found it overnight and it said couirer company picked it up this morning at 8am
......great we thought........BUT...rang BA to find out what happens now and they say courier company has bag but they don't know when it will be delivered  it could be 48hrs  dh pointed out note on file about flying with BA tomorrow and needing bag and they said 'oh yes it does say that on your file' but still no luck trying to find out when he will get bag.
DH has tried the couirers number and their office is shut
Does anyone have experience of this and how long does it take for the courier to get the bag to you?? My DH only has today at home with the family and we want to go out and make the most of the day - we also need to go and buy certain items lost if he won't have them for tomorrow but if the bag is going to turn up today we will have to wait in for it  The last thing we want to do is miss it when it does turn up
Don't know what to do?? BTW this is a money saving thread too as one of the items lost is a coat that we will need to replace because dh is travelling back to a country that is currently -15

It should only be a few days.
Go buy a cheap coat from Primark or something.0 -
Had a similar frustration with a courier company when Iberia failed to load one of my bags a couple of years ago. Took nearly a week to get to me. Tried to go and collect it but told not possible as its a bonded warehouse. And they were closed at the weekend. Buy a new coat and claim it on insurance.0

It isn't just the coat - that was just an example of one thing he needs out of it for next weeks work. It is such a pain. My dh has to work away alot.
We needed to go out so rang BA again. Next person gave dh another phone number for courier. That number didn't work either. We rang BA back. This next person seemed more helpful (or at least told us more what we want to hear - we just hope they are correct) He said courier company will ring us before they deliver. He also said (without my dh mentioning it to this person) that they have on the file that he is flying again tomorrow and the bag will come before then. We will see.
It would have been easier and cheaper (if we do have to replace the items) to pick the bag up from the airport or warehouse ourselves but have not been given an oppourtunity to do this.
I feel that if BA really cared about their customers they should have made sure when the bag was picked up at 8am this morning it was with a courier that would make sure it was with us today. This might happen as last person dh spoke to at BA said they deliver up until 11pm. So I won't vent completely until thenIf we get the bag today I will praise BA.
