Anyone else having issues with Avast 5? after using Avast 4 for some time quite happily I upgraded to 5 thursday night.... since then my system hangs and refuses to shutdown when commanded to, doesn't switch off to its usual 'powersaving mode' and playing some games (L4D2) I've noticed 'glitches' where it hangs for a second or 2 after extended play (<45 mins) and had a couple of crashes.
Avast 5 was the only thing recently changed on the system, uninstalling Avast 5 cleared up all issues and am now happily running Microsoft Security Essentials, scan clean and all seems well.
noticed google brings up some chatter of other ppl having a similar issue but wondering if anyone else on here has noticed anything?...
(INFO: I'm running Win7 ultimate edition, a Core i7 950, Nvidia GTX295 and with 6Gb RAM)

There have been some issues reported with Avast 5, especially with Windows XP. But there was an update yesterday, v5.0.396, and it is probably a good idea to update to this (right click the task bar icon and select update/program).
I have Avast 5 running on XP Home SP3 and have not had any problems.0 -
