Latex mattress

Physio Supplies are flogging some of their discontinued Tempur mattresses on E-Bay. I've ordered a king size 15cm combi mattress for £800 + £50 delivery (RRP £1249). There was a problem with the E-Bay "Buy It Now" when I tried to pay, so I phoned them to place an order. The same mattress is priced at £920 on their website, so a nice £70 saving!!0

I know this thread is old by now, but I would LOVE a latex mattress but cannot afford the £800 or so the Tempur,or other well known makes cost. I found this link the other day, and am very tempted to buy one!
I would appreciate any comments, as although it is very cheap, I do not want to throw money away!

I'm looking to buy a new mattress and like the look of the latex ones that don't need turning. Does anyone know what they are like? Where's the best place to buy them? Thanks.
All mattresses should be turned on a regular basis so that they wear evenly, and will last far longer.
Mattresses that are non turn are made that way so that they are cheaper to manufacture, and not for your convenience, as they will tell you in the shops.0 -
A few people have mentioned Tempur. Well to start with Tempur are reflex foam with memory foam on top, and not latex foam.
Tempur are very widely advertised, so much that they are a houshold name. This doesn't mean that they are the best on the market. In fact they came out bottom in the Which Magazine report on memory foam mattresses.
Tempur are also very very over priced. You can actually get a far better quality mattress (2 sided pocket sprung and memory foam/or latex foam), for a fraction of the price of a Tempur.0 -
What would you recommend as a good alternative to the Tempur, Tim?Tim_Deegan wrote: »A few people have mentioned Tempur. Well to start with Tempur are reflex foam with memory foam on top, and not latex foam.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I'm not allowed to give recommendations on MSE, as it could be viewed as advertising. However if I were you I would stay away from big brand names and big chain stores if you want good quality at a low price, and shop on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.0
