Trip to Portugal on Easyjet from Gatwick some questions

It's a real pain having to pay £1.25 for bottled water at the airport. My son suggested I take an empty plastic bottle through check in and fill it up the other side. The only thing is the last time I was at the airport there wasn't a drinking water tap in the ladies loo.
We are going to Portugal from Gatwick in a few weeks time. If we take two empty plastic bottles through, to airside, will we be able to top them up with free drinking water anywhere?
We are flying Easyjet which means we had to pay extra to book on two hold cases. Can anyone tell me what their current allowance for hand luggage is?
Also we are going to have to pay extra for food and drink on the plane. Anyone able to comment on how much this costs and if it is worth taking something on board with us. (Flight is 2 hours 20 minutes but the last flight I was on (not Easyjet) spent an hour on the airport on arrival waiting for a parking slot!)
Finally I have a Zen MP3 player. Normally I recharge it via the USB port on my PC but cannot do this while I am away. Is there any sort of EU plug I can buy to recharge it while I am away which has a usb port? And can also use for my mobile phone.

Ask any restaurant politely for some tap water and they usually oblige. I never had a problem getting my plastic bottle refilled after going through security. Easyjet has a strict one piece of hand luggage only per person, but no weight restrictions.0

Actually on their site, they do mention the dimenssions of the hand luggage but no weight as suggested.
