ESA SOOOO Confused

Still soooo confused about ESA!!!0

As woodbine has said you should receive your £64.30 ESA plus the Mortgage interest.
You need to contact the DWP and get this confirmed.0 -
Thankyou. On the letter they sent me they say they are giving me £64.30 but then they take into account the £143 child tax credit I get and say only the first £111 is allowed then they take off £38 of my ESA leaving me with £26.30. Whereas before the 13 weeks was up they would then top my ESA back up to £64.30 as they said I had paid enough contributions. I really dont understand all this.0

Doesn't sound right at all. IMO your ctc shouldn't be taken into consideration. You need to speak with them on MondayI'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0
-
Thanks, I will call them Monday. It's just last time I tried to call (I called about 8 times) they were very unhelpful said someone would call me back and that a superviser was dealing with my case but no one called me back.0
-
The letters arent all that helpful really - Ive seen many examples where they just dont make sense. The CTC isnt taken off your ESA(IR) but I know the letter implies that it is. The Mortgage Interest isnt taken off your ESA(IR) either.0

If you are promised a call back then this is what they should do. Complain to a manager if they don't. Next time you ring it will again be answered by someone on the telephony section. Ask them to email the manager on the section to ask for a call back.
Without knowing full family and financial circumstances it's impossible to say what you should be awarded.
As HMRC pay ctc this should not reduce your ESA.
Your ESA payments will consist of your applicable amount which is made up of personal allowances, any premiums plus the housing costs. (however your housing costs are included in the sum but then taken away because they're paid directly to your lender)
There might also be a reduced payment of ESA if you have any other income apart from that which is disregarded and/or your ctc and chb as children are not included in the ESA claim.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
I called for 3 days and was promised on about 6 occasions that someone would call me back but they never did, here am I left still not knowing where I stand.
I am a single parent with 3 children and no savings. I get £143 per week ctc my child benefit every 4 weeks and was getting £64.30ESA that's all I get since I've argued my case that I am entitled to ESA IR and ESA CR and finally got a letter to say they are going to help with my mortgage interest they have deducted £38 off my ESA. I dont understand!

Called DWP today, no help at all. They say I am entitled to ESA IR and CB but because I want help with my mortgage interest I have to be on IR. This means my ESA will now be £26.30 pw as they take into account my CTC of £143 and take off £38 pw of my ESA. Dont know what to do now, would I have been better going on income support as a lone parent (I have a 2 year old) and not having all the stress of these medicals etc...... help!0

ESA are taking £38 pw off my ESA of £64.30 as they say I am only allowed £111 per week and I get £143 per week and £5 per week child support from my ex. I thought the first £20 of child support wasn't counted am I wrong? It seems ridiculous that they are leaving me with £26.30 per week to live on. Can someone help me please:eek:0
