Grouting help!!

I'm having a bit of an issue regrouting the tiles in my shower. Basically a fair bit of the grouting has fallen off. The area has been regrouted a couple of times (and by different people), but the same ares keep falling off. The last time it was grouted, it fell off after the first shower
As far as I can tell, there are no leaks and the problem is purely getting the bloomin' grout to stay put (had more serious problems a while ago, but they have all been resolved). So does anyone have any suggestions about how I tackle this? Is there a special preparation step that may help or a particular grout that will work wonder?
I'm getting quite close to attacking the whole wall with silicon sealant so any advice will be greatfully recieved.

What's the size of the grout spacing?
under 2mm the grout will just crumble away, you must have something to fill.0 -
Can you post a pic of the area concerned? Eco is right. If the tiles are butt joined you've got a problem. What grout are you using?

Make sure you remove any old grout first with a grout rake to make sure you have a gap big enough to fill.
Use a waterproof grout suitable for a shower area and allow to fully dry (48hrs) before allowing it to come into contact with water.0 -
When grout manufacturers put "waterproof" on the packaging it means that it will not be damaged or deteriorate when in contact with water. It does not mean that is provides a watertight barrier to the passage of water.Use a waterproof grout suitable for a shower area and allow to fully dry (48hrs) before allowing it to come into contact with water.
