I am currently organising my Ipod touch, and getting the album artwork sorted and importing cds.
I have one cd that no matter what I try, track 2 does not come up in order when its imported. All the other tracks are where they are supposed to be, but track 2, seems to wander off further down the library list.
I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this type of thing, and want the album to run in order as this track HAS to run after track 1...
Any ideas please?

the artist name is not the same, like has feat some artist added or the genre is different. Right click the a track in the right place and go to track info. then see what is different from that track and your offending 2nd track, other than title of track and track no, the rest needs to be the same. Various artist tracks are a pain they jump all over the place and have to use the compliation tick box to get it sorted.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

aren't they just , i hate it when the Itunes Automatically splits your album in 2 or more Artwork covers just cause a track features someone .
i find the best way is to edit it your self by deleting the info thats different . that should then send the track back to where it comes from . also check the compilation box .
be careful if you delete the unwanted text and don't delete the space between that and the info you want to keep , as that will cause I tunes to see it as a different as wellBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for your replies. That was the first thing I checked and rectified. I even deleted it from the library and re-ripped it, after editing the info. Still it is elsewhere. Ordinarily I would just think sod it, but the of all the cd's this one needs to be in order..
Tis driving me mad. It would be so much easier if you could move them up and down the library..0 -
genre , track number, artist and album name all mess up the list if they are not all the same or sequentialSurvey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

Yep. Thats why I can't understand why it is where it is.. I have deleted it, ripped it into winamp too, and in winamp it is all in the correct order, I them imported it into itunes and it did the same as before. So I burnt it to a blank disc in the correct order with all the info the same Artist/album name etc. Ripped it back into itunes, and still the same..
I am about to give up methinks...:mad:0 -
its itunes thats messed up you need to make sure the album name is the same for each track, copy and paste the name if you need to and click the tick box for compliation. Also what are your sort perameters? If you click album to sort by album then artist it usually ok as long as complation is ticked for each track that has various artists.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

Yeah I have done all that too. I have it to sort by album too.... I have a mate who has the cd, so have mailed him asking him to send me the first 3 tracks of the cd. Will wait and see if that works...0 -
You're along the right lines with the sorting. One of the fields for that track doesn't match the rest. Make sure the year is the same for all tracks, genre as mentioned before, make sure the Notes entry is empty and make sure that you've filled in, for example, Track 2 of 10 or whatever it is. Did you rip the whole album at once or from the same source?0

View album artist column.
Set album artist to be the same for each track on the album.
Sort by album artist.
..you don't need to go alter song artist.
For compilation albums
1. make sure the "album artist" is something like "various artists" for all tracks
2. make sure album name is same for all tracks
3. make each track in options has "part of a compilation" ticked yes.0
