Have made rice pudding with the soya milk. It tastes good but there was no liquid left. OH has not noticed. I really fancy trying ir with coconut milk as OH loves tropical rice pud. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Sounds lovely - The chinese do a version of rice pudding called, if I remember rightly, 'Seven Treasure Rice Pudding' - which I used to make with Soya Milk and Cream. the seven treasures include Sultanas, Nuts (each variety count as a 'treasure'), dried fruits such as plums and apricots and almost anything 'nice' to eat you could include! lol - son requested marshmallows one time and silly me put them in at the start of cooking and not the end! Pink rice pudding and son complained it was sticky and NO marshmallows!

I use soya milk for all my cooking. The only really odd thing I've noticed is when I've used alpro original for scrambled eggs, they smelled a bit like baked sweet cakes! Odd, I'll stick to the light version of the milk in future!
    :)
  • You guys might want to try almond milk for cooking sweet things - it's delicious.

I took used only soya for 10 years and if it's a little thin then you just have to use thickeners - with custard that's the custard powder!
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
