Soya Milk Questions

Let the coffee cool down a bit, it might help. Also, pour the soya milk in the cup before pouring the coffee (after it has cooled a bit). Another trick that sometimes works (not sure why) is to pour the soya milk on the convex side of a metal spoon, making it drip into the coffee (hope it is clear).
Sometime it is due to the type of soya milk, some do curdle no matter what, some don't. Soya cream (you can get this at health food shops and I have seen it also at Mr S) does not curdle.
Strangely enough, soya milk does not seem to curdle in tea, no matter how hot. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hello, I believe that is its the acidity in coffee that causes it to curdle. I have yet to succeed using it in coffee without it curdling, I like Caterina tips tho, may have to try themApril/May Grocery challenge: £60/£200

We find that if you pour in more milk and keep stirring you get there eventually. We seem to go through phases where the milk always curdles and then phases when it doesn't but don't really know why.

I don't bother with soya in hot drinks, I just have them black. For cooking to avoid the risk of curdling, I'll often heat the soya slightly so that there is less temperature difference. Since we've made our own we don't seem to have as much of a problems.Piglet

Depends on the make. The only one I found which didn't curdle, even if you poured it in to hot coffee straight away, is White Wave. Unfortunately our local supermarket have stopped stocking it because the people who have bought White Wave insist on them ordering such huge quantities. So now I can't have coffee (I always drink tea black).0

My dd developed a diary intolerance recently and we are coping quite well so far, except i keep having to throw the soya milk away as it needs to be used within 5 days of opening. The alpro light soya milk is the only diary free milk she likes.
Does anyone know if Alpro light soya milk be frozen?0 -
I don't think so, but if it's any comfort I sometimes have soya milk open for longer than 5 days (not often because I get through loads of it but sometimes my mum will open one for me when I'm round her house and then the next time I'm round, often well over a week later, I'll use the same one and it will be fine) - it's always absolutely fine.
Last time I was in Tesco I saw they had tiny cartons of Alpro soya milk - like the size of chocolate soya milk cartons, but they are plain. I didn't look at how much they cost but they might be a better option, as they are smaller?0
